RADIUS Integration

Wireless Controller Integrations

Step-by-step guides for integrating NetKey with your wireless infrastructure. Choose your platform to get started.

Overview

NetKey works with any RADIUS-compatible wireless controller or access point. The integration process involves configuring your wireless controller to send authentication requests to the NetKey RADIUS server.

NetKey RADIUS Server Details

Find your RADIUS server details in the dashboard under Settings → RADIUS Clients

Server Address See Dashboard
Authentication Port 1812 (UDP)
Accounting Port 1813 (UDP)
RadSec Port 2083 (TCP/TLS)
Your RADIUS server details

Log in to app.netkey.no and navigate to Settings → RADIUS Clients to find your assigned RADIUS server address and create shared secrets for your wireless controllers.

General Requirements

Network Connectivity

Ensure your wireless controller can reach the NetKey RADIUS server:

Protocol Port Direction Purpose
UDP 1812 Outbound RADIUS Authentication
UDP 1813 Outbound RADIUS Accounting
TCP/TLS 2083 Outbound RadSec (optional)
Firewall Configuration

If your wireless controller is behind a firewall, ensure the above ports are allowed outbound to your assigned RADIUS server (found in your dashboard).

Shared Secret

Your RADIUS shared secret is unique to your organization and can be found in the NetKey dashboard under Settings → RADIUS. This secret must match exactly on both the NetKey server and your wireless controller.
